Small progress’s can equal BIG results:
Losing one pound a week can seem pretty disappointing when you went to the gym for an hour everyday this week and when you have eaten meal prepped healthy meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. However, if you consistently lose that one pound for three months you have lost twelve pounds…still not enough for all your hard work?? Let’s widen our vision to six months and see that we have lost a total of twenty four pounds! Still not enough, that small progress for twelve months will have lost you a whopping fifty-two pounds. Each of these stages are BIG results! So how to do you begin?
When we start a new adventure, whether nutritionally or physically, it is much easier for us to manage at a pace that realistic.
“I’m going to workout two days a week,” may not sound life changing…and that is the point. If you have not frequented a gym or zumba class with any consistency, it is probably a fanciful desire to set a goal of seven days!
Make it convenient
Creating habits makes stepping into a new lifestyle super simple. Researchers say it can take anywhere from 21-90 days to create a new habit. Convenience just makes life simple! If your goal is to eat healthier, having access to healthy prep meals is ideal. Keep fresh frozen foods to add to your meals. Focus on healthy snacks that are easily accessible. Try this Health Sculptor Lemon Green Protein Smoothie. For a good family meal, we recommend a one pan meal loaded with lean protein and veggies.

Find a fitness style that brings you joy
If you strongly dislike running, then running the treadmill 5 miles a day probably isn’t going to happen. You have to find YOUR passion! That could mean pilates, or a spin class, a hip-hop or dance class, or maybe you would love to rock climbing or hiking. Don’t be discouraged by the trial and error approach. Once you find what makes you excited about moving, you’ll most definitely exceed your fitness goals.
If you fall down seven times, get up eight! If you failed at nutrition today, don’t beat yourself up about it. There are still more days ahead. If you did not make it to the gym today…get a 30 second plank in and get to the gym again tomorrow. James Clear, author of Atomic Habits says, “Never miss twice. ” Think of it like this, if you cracked the screen of your new iPhone you wouldn’t run it over with your car, so why on earth would you stop working out after missing one day or disregard all your efforts at a new nutrition lifestyle after one weekend of not watching your intake???
These small steps over the next three to six months are going to gain some BIG results my friend. Be faithful in the small stuff!
